Devotional #08

Sending love!

I’m here to affirm your place in God’s purpose for the earth. You’re important. Do not think less of yourself, God values your existence! Also, you need to start preparing for the manifestation of God’s word in your life.

We’re learning from John the Baptist today. The man who came to “prepare the way” of the lord. His life was an example and demonstration of the importance of preparation. There had to be a certain John, a man who was sold out for Christ before even meeting Him! How marvellous. Before anything can be done, preparation has to take place.

My baptism was for the preparation of his appearing to Israel, even though I’ve yet to experience him.

John‬ ‭1:31‬ ‭TPT‬‬

John understood his place in God’s plan. He didn’t wait to meet Christ before he started doing his ministry. Often times we wait for unrealistic opportunities before acting on God’s instruction in our lives. We need the wisdom and humility John had. He was wise enough to understood his purpose and humbled himself to do the work required of him. What are you doing with the word and instruction God has given you?

The man was yet to experience Christ, but that didn’t stop him from doing his part. He did what he had to and that is what positioned him to witness Christ’s anointing. Had John decided to sit and wait only to baptise Jesus when he came, I think he was going to miss Him. John had to baptise a lot of people before Christ. Sing at church, write for others, plait your sister’s hair, help in your community — be useful and productive already! Even though you’re yet to be a recording artist, author, professional hairdresser, NPO owner — prepare!

For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.

Habakkuk 2:3 NKJV

It may seem like you are far from getting to the place where you see yourself going, but don’t be discouraged. God is always on time. Your preparation should testify of your future. Begin to make headway in the direction of purpose. What God promised will surely come to pass. Whether in your life or those coming after you. If you’re not the one who’s going to finish it, like John. Prepare the way! Save those coming after you from doing double the work.

You’re essential to God’s good plan for the earth. Believe it. Prepare for it.

A good reminder to be diligent wherever we are to do whatever He has placed us to do. I like how you mentioned the preparation process with John the Baptist. I did not always think about that.
    Thank you for sharing 😊.

You’ve explained John the Baptist story well. He’s virtues of humility and wisdom are so admirable and made him fulfil his purpose of preparing the way. We should strive for such.

Well said, we shouldn’t wait for unrealistic opportunities but start now. I read once that luck is when preparedness meets opportunity so without any preparation, we miss so many opportunities.

Yes, certainly! There has to be a foundation on which opportunity can land and be built on… I am glad that we’re learning together! Have a blessed week 😃
